Lessons
Introduction
1. A lesson is an educational module from which courses and programs are assembled.
A lesson can only be part of a course or program. If the course consists of one lesson, then create a lesson, then add it to the course.
2.Lessons can be in formats (one option only):

Video tutorial (pre-uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, VK Video, Rutube or any other video hosting);

SCORM;

pdf (for example, presentation, instructions and other materials in pdf format);

Longread. A longread can consist of one element or can combine all of these formats:

video,
-
audio,
-
image,
-
text.

For example, if you need to create an audio course:
- create a lesson in longread formatа,
- add an audio file to the longread
- create a course based on the lesson.
3. You can add an unlimited number of additional materials and links to the lesson.
The lessons section is only available to the application moderator..
Adding a lesson
1. To add a lesson, click on the plus
2. Fill in the fields:
- Lesson title (required);
- Lesson description;
- Image;
- Catalog section;
- Select lesson format:
- video - pre-upload to any video hosting.
- scorm-package - can be loaded directly into the lesson using the Load button.
- pdf - can be uploaded directly to the lesson in the PDF Lesson field.
- longread - created directly inside the lesson in a special editor.
3. Add if necessary:
- Additional materials of any format.
- Links. To internal or external sources.
- Points. How many points will be awarded for completing the lesson. Points are included in the calculation of the overall rating.
Additional materials will be downloaded to the user's device.
Actions with the lesson
1. The lesson can be edited, deleted, exported or copied.
2. After creating a copy, the lesson is created with the same name and the word Copy before the name. The lesson is created in the Draft status.
3. Exporting a lesson is used when it is necessary to save or transfer a lesson from one portal to another. A lesson can be exported in Excel format (only the text component) or UDATA (All lesson contents). The export format is set in Settings - Application settings - Other - Export format.
Lesson statuses
Lessons have statuses:
- Publication status: published; draft (saved without publication).
- Success statuses: passed; failed. Passed - Complete button pressed. Failed - Complete button not pressed.
Until you click the Complete button in a lesson, the lesson will be displayed in the system as not completed.
FAQ for this section
What size files can be uploaded to lessons?
Answer: There is no file size limit. Please pay attention to your network and available disk space in the application.
Is it possible to play a video, PDF file from the place where the user stopped and closed the lesson?
Answer: At the moment, there is no such possibility. In this regard, we recommend:
- make the content smaller so that the user can study it in one go;
- recommend that the user record where he stopped, so that next time he can start from the place where he stopped.
How to expand the screen when viewing a lesson?
Answer: To increase the visible area of the screen, collapse the menu by clicking on the item. You can collapse the menu in the application and in the CRM system.
How to resize video, PDF file? Why video, PDF file not auto-scale?
Answer.
Video. When a video is inserted from a video hosting site, it is automatically scaled. When a video is inserted into a longread, you need to select the size yourself; videos in a longread are not automatically scaled.
PDF file. The PDF file is not automatically scaled, for this purpose special elements are built in that allow you to change the size and rotate the PDF file. If necessary, the user can open the PDF file in a separate window.
Is it possible to download a video stored on our disk and play it in a lesson?
Answer: No. Video files can be uploaded:
- In the video tutorial. Pre-upload to any video hosting.
- In longread. In this case, the video will be stored on our server.
- In additional materials. In this case, the video will be stored on our server and when trying to open it will be downloaded to the user's device.
How to insert video, audio, image into a longread?
Answer: To insert a picture, click Insert - Image, to insert a video or audio file, click Insert - Multimedia. In the dialog box, select the file and click Save.
If the file is large, you can upload it via the Upload element. In this case, the system will show the upload progress. After uploading, a link will become available that needs to be inserted into the Embedded code field when Insert - Multimedia is selected.
